We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (‘ICO’) under certificate number ZB309556.

This Privacy Notice explains how we keep your information secure, managing this in accordance with data protection laws.
 
Data that we may collect about you
We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you, including:
  • Identity data, including first name, last name, date of birth.
  • Contact data, including email address and telephone numbers.
  • Financial data, including details of historical transactions relating to your case.
We do not collect or store any special categories of data about you. (This includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic data).
 
Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.
 
How is your personal data collected
Direct interactions.
You may give us your identity, make contact and share financial data regarding your case by filling in forms or by corresponding with us by post, phone, email or when we contact you during our relationship with you.
 
This includes personal data you provide when you:
  • Engage with us to discuss your specific case history;
  • Subscribe to our services;
  • Provide us with feedback or contact us.
How we use your personal data
We will only use your personal data where the law allows us to, including managing our relationship with you, and where it is necessary for our legitimate interests.
 
This includes sharing your personal data with professional advisers acting as processors or joint controller including lawyers, counsel, and regulatory bodies, based in the UK.
 
We will never share your details for the purposes of third party marketing or advertising without your express written consent.
 
If a change in ownership happens to our business, then the new owners may use your personal data in the same way as set out in this privacy policy.
 
Data security
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed.
 
These include two factor authentication on devices where your data is stored.
 
Email messages are stored on third party servers in encrypted format.

In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know.

They will only process your personal data on our instructions, and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

Data retention

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
 
To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.
 
Your legal rights
You have the right to:
 
1. Request access to your personal data (commonly known as a “data subject access request”). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.
 
2. Request a correction of the personal data that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate data we hold about you corrected.
 
3. Request removal of your personal data. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it.
 
4. Object to processing of your personal data where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and there is something about your particular situation which makes you want to object to processing on this ground as you feel it impacts on your fundamental rights and freedoms.
 
5. Withdraw consent at any time where we are relying on your consent to process your personal data. However, this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent. If you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide certain services to you. We will advise you if this is the case at the time you withdraw your consent.
 
Cookie Information
Cookies are designed to assist with the ease of navigation around our website and enhance the user experience. If you leave a comment on our site or fill in a form for submission you have the opportunity to opt in to saving your name, email address and website and so on in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
 
If you visit our login page (where present), we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
 
When you log in (where present), we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices.
 
Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
 
If for instance you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
 
If you wish to exercise any of the rights set out above, please contact us. We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it may take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex.
